About

GITA 3 is the year we learn how to use Adobe Flash. Unfortunately, Flash is a dying language. For this class, I invested in Adobe Animate. With this program, you are able to create animations and games. Adobe Animate is very complex but has easy to use tools to help bring your visions to life.

Check out Adobe Animate here!

Semester 1                                  Semester 2

Avatar

We create our own avatar in Flash. We had to come up with a unique design and backstory. Meet Ykselas!

Greeting Card

We add text to our Flash project and export it as a SWF file. Happy International Clown Week!

Landscape

In this project, we make a changing landscape for our avatar. It includes a day and night cycle and all hand-drawn objects. We learn how to use frames to create smooth animations.

Tribute

We make a video tribute to one of our favorite video games. It needed multiple scenes with many moving objects. I don't play many video games so I just chose Minecraft.

HELL SLOTHS

On the fateful day of one of Nic's custody visits with his son Kyle, baby sloths rise from hell to take over the world. Will this former Hollywood karate stunt man be able to defeat them? Or, more importantly, will he defeat his demons like alcoholism, or reconnect from his emotionally distant son?

Tutorial

We learn how to include buttons to progress the animation in a tutorial. We were not permitted to teach Mr. Salesky how to bake cookies or prepare a steak.

Sound Project

We learn how to play and stop sounds using buttons.

Children's Game

Welcome to the fourth grade! It's lunch time and you left your lunch bag at home. With no money in your pockets, you're going to have to get creative! What's something delicious, nutritious, and quite easy to find? Great idea! Click on the wriggly worms to eat them. See how many you can slurp down before lunch is over! We use a counting and timer system to create a game to help develop children's cognitive abilities.

Semester 2 Projects

Coming January! Or February. Or March... eventually.
